| This is a basic tutorial showing newbies how to establish parent-child relationships between objects. OK, I will assume that you have read my blender quickstart tutorial at: From Start to Render- A Blender Quickstart that tutorial will show you how to create objects. Ok let's create a bunch of resized cubes like below. |

| Ok select a leg by clicking on a leg wih the right mouse button. |

| Holding down the SHIFT Key, right click on the other 3 legs. Notice how the last leg you clicked on has a blue color? The last selected object is always the active object. |

| still holding down the SHIFT Key select the Platform cube. It should now be blue with purple legs. |

| Now I want to make the platform to be the parent of the legs. This is also called parenting the platform to the legs. To do this press ctrl-p. Ctrl-p will set an active object as the parent to other selected objects. |

| You should now see dashed lines between the platform and it's
children, the legs. Now if you move, rotate or scale the platform the legs will do the same. But the children can also be selected and transformed individually. Give it a try. That's all folks. |
