Next we need to give the dots we created a slashing blur to the
side. We do this by right clicking on the eyebrow and choosing
Filter --> Blur --> Motion Blur and once again getting this pop up
window:
This time, keep the 135 setting.
Let it go, and you should have this:
And, if you did this on a fresh layer, you can use the erraser to clean
up the edges. By the way, I used a slightly different kind of brown, with
more red in it, under the brow. If you use a new color, spred it around
the face as highlight.
Ok, we've come to the point where we need an eye fold. This is how
I do it. I start by using that Lasso tool again and carefully locating the
eyefold above the eye, then relaxing and finishing the circle under the eye.
I then do another right click, Select --> Invert Selection and
I'm ready to do, as I did with the lips, choos a darker than skin color, and
hide the airbrush tool behind the dotted selection line and blow the color
up to fade into the eyelid:
Looks a little harsh, so we need to blur it
Select only the area you want to blur and do a right
click, Filters --> Blur --> Blur
You are in layers, right?
Now it should look ok. Next we need to create some eyelashes.
Go ahead and merge what you have or create a new layer to do your
eyelashes on. you really want to make sure you're in a fresh layer for
this one. Use the pencil tool, set to only one pixel and do your best to
draw some eyelashes.
Select the eyelashes and blur them the same as the eyefold.
Now we will outline the iris. I'm not going to go into how to make
an iris. you can go to IceMan's excellent tutorial on the Gimp for making
an eye. just select the iris when you are done, and copy/past into a new
image without any background, and you have an iris for this project (after you
scale it to your liking) So what we are going to do is highlight a circle
with the circle tool (upper left side) and create a circle that is somewhat
larger than the whites of the eye. (In a seperate layer
please)
Then completely fill it with black.
